Job Summary
Conduct active participation in surgical cases, dental procedures, emergencies, sick patient workups, and routine medical appointments under the supervision of an experienced veterinarian. Engage in case discussions, collaborative problem-solving, and hands-on patient care for dogs and cats across GP, ER, and specialty settings. Verify exam findings with your supervising veterinarian before proceeding with cases as part of the team. This clinical externship is available to current AVMA-accredited veterinary students in the Peoria, Illinois area, offering stipends to offset travel and lodging costs.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a current veterinary student at an AVMA-accredited veterinary school
- Must provide proof of professional liability insurance
- Must be a current veterinary student at an AVMA-accredited veterinary school
Desired Qualifications
- Priority scheduling is given to students in their clinical years on official externship blocks for school credit
