Job Summary
Participate in surgical cases, dental procedures, emergencies, sick patient workups, and routine medical appointments under the supervision of experienced veterinarians and skilled support staff. Discuss cases with your supervising veterinarian to confirm exam findings and verify your plans before moving forward with procedures. This clinical externship integrates you into the team through collaborative problem-solving and hands-on patient care in GP, ER, and specialty settings at Peoria Area Veterinary Group in Chillicothe, IL.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a current veterinary student at an AVMA-accredited veterinary school
- Must provide proof of professional liability insurance
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Priority scheduling is given to students in their clinical years on official externship blocks for school credit
