Job Summary
Participate actively in surgical cases, dental procedures, emergencies, sick patient workups, and routine medical appointments under the supervision of an experienced veterinarian and skilled support staff. Discuss cases with your supervising veterinarian, confirm exam findings, and collaborate on treatment plans to verify your clinical skills before moving forward. Gain hands-on experience in ultrasound, dentistry, soft tissue surgery, laser therapy, rehabilitation, and preventative care for dogs and cats. This externship provides a supportive, collaborative environment for 3rd and 4rd year AVMA-accredited students to apply classroom knowledge in a real-world hospital setting in Owings Mills, Maryland, with opportunities for mentorship and diverse case exposure.
Required Qualifications
- Current veterinary student at an AVMA-accredited veterinary school
- Proof of professional liability insurance
- 3rd or 4th year veterinary medical student
- Student in clinical years on official externship blocks for school credit
