Job Summary
Conduct active participation in surgical cases, dental procedures, emergencies, sick patient workups, and routine medical appointments under the supervision of an experienced veterinarian and skilled support staff. Engage in case discussions and collaborative problem-solving to verify exam findings with your supervising veterinarian before proceeding. Provide hands-on patient care for dogs and cats across medical, dental, and rehabilitation services while discussing case plans to confirm your clinical approach. This externship offers a supportive, collaborative environment for 3rd and 4th year veterinary students at an AVMA-accredited school to apply classroom knowledge in a real-world hospital setting.
Required Qualifications
- Current veterinary student at an AVMA-accredited veterinary school
- Proof of professional liability insurance
- 3rd or 4th year veterinary medical student
- Student in clinical years on official externship blocks for school credit
