Job Summary
Conduct active participation in surgical cases, dental procedures, emergencies, sick patient workups, and routine medical appointments under the supervision of an experienced veterinarian. Engage in case discussions, collaborative problem-solving, and hands-on patient care for dogs and cats across soft tissue surgery, dentistry, wellness, and medical appointments. Verify exam findings with your supervising veterinarian before proceeding with cases as part of a collaborative team. This externship provides clinical-year students at AVMA-accredited schools with mentorship and diverse experience in general practice at Orange Veterinary Hospital in Orange, CT.
Required Qualifications
- Current veterinary student at an AVMA-accredited veterinary school
- Proof of professional liability insurance
- Clinical-year status (3rd or 4th year)
- Official externship blocks for school credit
