Job Summary
Participate actively in surgical cases, dental procedures, emergencies, sick patient workups, and routine medical appointments under the supervision of an experienced veterinarian and skilled support staff. Discuss cases with your supervising veterinarian to confirm exam findings before proceeding with treatment plans. Gain hands-on experience in ultrasound, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and wellness care across a wide variety of medical and surgical scenarios. This externship provides clinical-year students at AVMA-accredited schools with mentorship and diverse case exposure in a full-service general practice setting in Southwest Florida.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a current veterinary student at an AVMA-accredited veterinary school
- Must provide proof of professional liability insurance
- Must be in their clinical years
- Must be on official externship blocks for school credit
- Must be a 3rd or 4th year veterinary medical student
