Job Summary
Participate in surgical cases, dental procedures, emergencies, sick patient workups, and routine medical appointments under the supervision of an experienced veterinarian and skilled support staff. Discuss cases with your supervising veterinarian to confirm exam findings before proceeding with treatment plans. Gain hands-on experience in soft tissue surgery, dentistry, holistic care, and preventative medicine across diverse species including dogs, cats, exotics, and small livestock. This externship provides clinical-year students at AVMA-accredited schools with a transformative opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in HousePaws Mobile Veterinary Services' state-of-the-art outpatient facilities, which offer a unique fusion of mobile and traditional hospital care.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a current veterinary student at an AVMA-accredited veterinary school
- Must provide proof of professional liability insurance
Desired Qualifications
- Priority scheduling is given to students in their clinical years on official externship blocks for school credit
