Job Summary
Participate actively in surgical cases, dental procedures, emergencies, sick patient workups, and routine medical appointments under supervision. Discuss case findings with a supervising veterinarian to verify exam results before proceeding. Gain hands-on experience in general practice settings covering dogs, cats, and small exotic pets across advanced services including orthopedic surgery, oncology, cardiology, and endoscopy. This externship provides clinical-year students at AVMA-accredited schools with mentorship and diverse case exposure to apply classroom knowledge in a real-world hospital environment in Kansas City, Missouri.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a current veterinary student at an AVMA-accredited veterinary school
- Must provide proof of professional liability insurance
