Job Summary
Perform ultrasound studies and facilitate training at home and regional hospitals while adapting to diverse patient scenarios and new techniques. Maintain relationships with teleconsultation radiologists to ensure study accuracy and align training content with VEG's mission and up-to-date sonographic standards. Track team skills using certification checklists, engage in program evaluation to enhance training objectives, and coordinate weekly floor shifts with medical directors and hospital managers. Develop curriculum materials including PowerPoints and simulations, and provide educational demonstrations on abdominal, thoracic, cardiac, and musculoskeletal topics. Travel to facilities in Fort Collins, Las Vegas, and White Plains for off-site training.
Required Qualifications
- Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT/LVMT), diagnostic medical sonographer (RDMS), and/or equivalent experience (e.g., sonographer course certificates)
- 3+ years veterinary ultrasound experience
- Previous training experience
- Patience to teach and develop doctors, nurses, and fellow sonographers
- Comfortable mentoring others
- Giving/receiving feedback from colleagues
- Adaptability to changing environments
- Excellent communicator with peers, customers, and VEGgies
- Desire to travel to regional hospitals and off-site training facilities (e.g., Fort Collins, CO; Las Vegas, NV; White Plains, NY, etc.)
