Job Summary

Greet and check in clients and patients at the front desk, collect intake information, and confirm appointment details. Answer and manage a multi-line telephone system, directing calls and responding to inquiries regarding scheduling, services, and general information. Perform client check-out, including payment processing, posting charges, and scheduling future appointments. Provide composed and compassionate customer service to clients experiencing anxiety, distress, or difficult news regarding their pet's health. Perform accurate data entry and maintain organized records in the practice management system. Communicate effectively with clinical staff to relay messages, flag urgent situations, and support efficient daily operations. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception and waiting area. This full-time role includes a 4-day work week (Monday–Friday, every other Saturday) with a salary of $19.00–$22.00 per hour.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a front desk, receptionist, or customer service representative role — in a medical, dental, urgent care, veterinary, hospitality, or high-volume service environment
  • Demonstrated customer service skills with strong verbal and written communication, including active listening, managing client inquiries, and conveying information clearly and compassionately
  • Experience with appointment scheduling, multi-line phone management, data entry, and payment processing or point-of-sale (POS) systems
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively and adapt quickly to new systems and workflows in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to learn electronic medical records (EMR) or practice management software through structured onboarding
  • Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and professionalism, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Genuine affinity for animals; comfortable working in a clinical environment that includes animal patients
  • Schedule: This is a full-time position with a 4-day work week, Monday – Friday, and every other Saturday
