Veterinary Practice Manager

Job Summary

Lead and develop a team of 15+ staff, partner with the Medical Director on scheduling and hospital priorities, and manage purchasing, facility needs, compliance, budgeting, and staffing. Drive consistency, strengthen communication, and improve workflows to create an environment where the team and practice thrive. Support staff development, address problems immediately, and recognize good work to build a culture of accountability. Grow Urgent Care services and strengthen local community presence through creative marketing and client growth strategies. Work full-time with support from UVC's Learning & Development team and mentorship resources.

Required Qualifications

  • veterinary management experience
  • at least three years
  • genuine interest in leading people
  • improving a practice
  • confident, approachable leader
  • not afraid to make decisions
  • comfortable coaching, developing, and holding team members accountable
  • organized enough to keep the many moving pieces of a veterinary hospital moving
  • strong problem solver
  • stay calm when things inevitably get a little chaotic
  • interested in both the people side and business side of veterinary medicine
  • comfortable looking at budgets, revenue, KPIs, and operational goals
  • experienced with veterinary marketing or interested in helping grow the practice
  • sees challenges as things to fix, not things to work around forever
  • background as a technician or a CVPM
  • SHRM-CP, BS, MBA, or other advanced education
