Job Summary
Temporary Veterinary Pharmacy Technician role at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists. Responsibilities include educating clients about medications, assisting with refills, handling calls and messages, reconciling refills with doctor approval, communicating with doctors and pharmacies, filling prescriptions, maintaining pharmacy appearance, stocking supplies, ordering medications, balancing controlled drug books, and supporting medication-related operations. Requires strong client-service skills, organization, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced veterinary setting; prior veterinary and/or pharmacy technician experience is preferred. Schedule includes rotating weeks with specific weekday and Saturday coverage; compensation $17-$19/hour based on experience.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma is required
- 1-2 years of veterinary experience preferred
- 1 year of Pharmacy Technician experience preferred
- Fluent English (speaking & reading) required
- Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and independently
- Adaptable to changing healthcare environment
- Knowledge of medications, generic and brand names; controlled substances protocol
- Knowledge of clinic procedures to streamline client experiences
- Experience with pharmacy operations and Cubex system
