Job Summary
Nursing Trainer role focused on growing VEG’s veterinary emergency education: partner with leadership to identify training needs, assess assistants and credentialed technicians through direct observation, drive advancement through VEG’s Cultivate program, implement training programs as the go-to training lead at the hospital, split time between on-the-floor mentoring and strategic development, deliver tailored hands-on training for varied learning styles, organize peer training, collaborate with nursing managers to broaden impact, develop and refine training content (presentations, videos, simulations, assessments), ensure alignment with VEG’s culture and emergency standards, and continually evaluate leveling programs for staff.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate’s degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA-accredited program strongly preferred
- Credentialed as a veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state of practice
- VTS in ECC, internal medicine, or anesthesia/analgesia a plus
- Willingness to travel to other VEG hospitals in the region for onboarding support as needed
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as-needed basis
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with diverse teams
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ownership mindset toward team growth and development
