Job Summary
Partner with leadership to identify individual and team training needs and assess assistants and credentialed technicians through direct observation. Drive advancement through VEG's Cultivate program by implementing training programs, serving as the go-to training lead, and splitting time between on-the-floor mentoring and strategic development. Provide tailored, hands-on training for all learning styles, organize peer training opportunities, and develop educational tools like presentations and simulations. Collaborate with nursing managers to ensure training aligns with emergency standards while continually evaluating leveling programs. Work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis to support hospital needs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate's degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA accredited program
- Credentialed as a veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state the VEG practice is located
- High level of knowledge and skill in emergency medicine
- Willingness to travel to other VEG hospitals in your region to help with new veterinarian onboarding as needed
- Must be willing to work in a noisy environment with strong or unpleasant odors
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as needed basis based on hospital needs
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA accredited program (strongly preferred)
- VTS in ECC, internal medicine, or anesthesia/analgesia
- Previous training experience
