Job Summary
Nursing Trainer at VEG leads and mentors veterinary team members in emergency-medicine training across hospitals. The role involves partnering with leadership to identify training needs, observing assistants and credentialed technicians, driving advancement through VEG’s Cultivate program, developing and delivering training content (presentations, videos, simulations, assessments), and balancing hands-on floor mentoring with strategic development. The trainer tailors content to diverse learning styles, organizes peer training, collaborates with nursing managers and networks to broaden impact, and travels to VEG hospitals as needed to onboard new veterinarians. The position emphasizes teaching excellence, ownership of team growth, and alignment with VEG’s culture, mission, and care standards, including flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays in a dynamic emergency-medical environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate’s degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA accredited program strongly preferred
- Credentialed as a veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state the VEG practice is located
- VTS in ECC, internal medicine, or anesthesia/analgesia a plus
- High level of knowledge and skill in emergency medicine
- Previous training experience preferred
- Relentless passion for teaching and uplifting others

- Strong communicator and collaborator across teams
- Willingness to travel to other VEG hospitals in your region to help with new veterinarian onboarding as needed
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as needed basis based on hospital needs
