Job Summary
Being a Nursing Manager at VEG means building a culture where people are empowered, connected, and proud of the work they do. You’ll lead a veterinary nursing team in emergency medicine, manage day-to-day flow, oversee scheduling, payroll, productivity, hiring, onboarding and offboarding, address patient care issues with empathy, and partner with hospital leadership to align on goals and hospital flow. You’ll guide team development using doctor feedback, uphold medical excellence and licensure standards, champion in-house training and mentorship, and drive long-term career growth while embodying VEG values and fostering a culture of learning. This full-time leadership role focuses on transforming the emergency nursing experience for patients, clients, and VEGgies, with opportunities for leadership development, travel stipends, and comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state where the VEG practice is located
- A.S. or B.S. from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program is strongly preferred
- 5+ years in a clinical veterinary nursing role, emergency-specific experience preferred
- 2+ years of leadership experience
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Willingness to work in a noisy environment with strong or unpleasant odors
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as needed basis
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with people from diverse backgrounds
