Job Summary
Manage day-to-day flow for the nursing team by overseeing scheduling, payroll, hiring, and onboarding while addressing patient care issues and team dynamics with empathy. Partner with hospital leadership and shift leads to align on goals, utilizing doctor feedback to guide team development and maintain medical excellence. Champion a culture of learning through in-house training, mentorship, and meaningful 1:1s to fuel long-term career growth for VEGgies. Ensure licensure, performance standards, and education programs are upheld across the team while driving clinical excellence in a fast-paced emergency environment.
Required Qualifications
- Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state the VEG practice is located
- 5+ years in a clinical veterinary nursing role
- 2+ years of leadership experience
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as needed basis based on hospital needs
- Must be willing to work in a noisy environment with strong or unpleasant odors
Desired Qualifications
- A.S. or B.S. from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program
- emergency-specific experience
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Work well in a fast-paced environment with people from all backgrounds and different personality types
