Job Summary
Conduct laboratory analyses using automated analyzers and microscopes to diagnose animal illnesses, injuries, and diseases. Perform diagnostic tests on blood, urine, fecal, and biopsy samples received daily, then set up and run lab tests while reading and releasing results according to Standard Operating Procedures. Specialize in an assigned department while maintaining reliable attendance and precision in a team environment. This full-time role offers extensive on-the-job training for candidates with or without prior lab experience.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Reliable and dependable attendance
- Able to meet the physical requirements that go with working in a lab – standing and sitting for extended periods of time, phone & computer use, extended reach, lifting up to 50lb, and specific vision ability – close, color, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S.
- Must be able to work on site in our Mukilteo, WA lab
Desired Qualifications
- 2-, 3- or 4-year degree in a Science-related field
- Experience as a Veterinary Technician (RVT, LVT, CVT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT or MT)
- Ideally, experience setting up, running, and reading lab tests, and operating laboratory equipment (microscopes, pipetting and / or clinical diagnostic analyzers)
