Job Summary
Veterinary Kennel Technician for Fort Lee PetVet in Fort Lee, NJ. Responsibilities include care, feeding, medicating, and cleaning of patients in hospital and boarding facilities; cleaning, laundry, bathing, feeding, walking dogs, and medicating; restocking supplies; assisting with post-operative patients; assisting doctors with animal restraint and exams; and maintaining accurate medication and care records. Requires knowledge of cleaning/disinfecting methods, proper animal restraint, ability to perform moderately heavy physical labor, compassionate care for ill or stressed animals, ability to learn to administer medications, and ability to follow oral and written directions; strong cooperation with team members is expected. Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of cleaning and disinfecting methods
- Proper methods of animal restraint
- Ability to use cleaning materials and equipment with skill and efficiency
- Perform moderately heavy physical labor
- Ability to sympathetically and patiently attend to sick, scared and injured animals
- Ability to learn to administer medications and to recognize abnormal conditions
- Understand and carry out oral and written directions
