Job Summary
Deliver didactic classroom instruction and lead practical demonstrations for veterinary technician students. Perform live surgeries including spay, neuter, and dental procedures as teaching demonstrations while supervising and coaching students during surgical labs. Evaluate student performance, maintain grades, and implement retention strategies to monitor success. Prepare lectures and practical demonstrations using an established curriculum. Coordinate guest speakers, field trips, and clinic visits. Maintain surgical logs, teaching records, and student attendance in accordance with state requirements. Assist with supplies and equipment inventory. Work a predictable Monday through Friday schedule with no on-call or evening shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution
- Licensed Veterinarian in the state where the campus is located
- Three (3) years of experience as a DVM, including surgical experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills (word processing, presentations)
- Monday - Friday schedule
- San Marcos, CA location
