Job Summary
Lead the development and leadership of a new veterinary critical care service within a busy 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital in Ventura. Manage critically ill and hospitalized patients, oversee ICU-level care, and support the ER team with complex cases. Collaborate with internal medicine and other specialists to ensure comprehensive patient care; mentor and grow the critical care team; help shape protocols and the clinical culture to advance the hospital's critical care capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent
- Board-certified ACVECC (American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care)
- Experience in emergency and critical care
- Leadership or program-building experience preferred
- Ability to mentor staff and develop protocols
- Strong collaboration with internal medicine and other specialists
- Commitment to high-quality, compassionate patient care
