Job Summary

Coordinate and agree comprehensive treatment plans for pets while overseeing regulatory compliance and arranging logistics for external veterinary consultations. Serve as a key point of guidance for internal teams, foster carers, and pet owners by supporting public welfare education, navigating complex clinical cases, and offering compassionate support during sensitive welfare-led decision-making. Act as the crucial link connecting clinical care with broader rehoming and fostering operations to standardise approaches and optimise resources. This part-time role spans 22.5 hours across three days, focusing on advising on clinical care provided by partner practices rather than onsite procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Fully qualified and RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse
  • Confident across all aspects of veterinary nursing practice
  • Strong knowledge of animal welfare, biosecurity, and shelter medicine principles
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload effectively
  • Ability to work in emotionally demanding environments with resilience
  • The ability to demonstrate, understand and apply our Blue Cross values

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in shelter medicine or rehoming environments
  • Experience of budget awareness or resource management
  • Experience supporting adopters with ongoing clinical cases
