Job Summary
Train and mentor new Veterinary Assistants while supporting their progression through UVS's leveling program, providing hands-on instruction, coaching, and real-time feedback on workflows and hospital protocols. Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), training guides, and educational resources, including presentations, videos, and digital learning materials for VetBloom. Assist with training on medical equipment, troubleshooting, and proper maintenance, while collaborating with managers to monitor employee development and competency. Help create presentations, videos, and digital learning materials for VetBloom and other educational platforms, and participate in the rollout and education of the RECOVER CPR initiative. Full-Time Sunday–Wednesday | 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM with flexibility for evening shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience mentoring, training, or coaching others
- RECOVER Rescuer Certification
- Fear Free Certification
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities
- Ability to present educational material clearly and effectively
- Advanced technical veterinary assistant knowledge and equipment proficiency
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail
- Comfortable adapting training methods to different adult learning styles
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Positive attitude and ability to foster a collaborative learning environment
- Professional, approachable, and supportive demeanor
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office

- Ability to lift and carry patients or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, and move throughout the workday
- Comfortable working extensively with computers, medical equipment, and training software
- Ability to work in a veterinary hospital environment with exposure to animal odors, noise, and bodily fluids
- Flexibility required to work at least two Wednesday shifts per month from 5:00 PM – 3:00 AM
- Additional flexibility may be required to accommodate occasional evening and weekend training needs
Desired Qualifications
- Experience mentoring, training, or coaching others preferred
- RECOVER Rescuer Certification preferred
- Fear Free Certification preferred
