Job Summary
Veterinary Assistant needed for Total Veterinary Care in Kennesaw (Greater Atlanta Area). Full-time role with a schedule of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday, requiring at least one year of full-time veterinary assistant experience in a general practice. Responsibilities include assisting DVMs in surgery, exams, and diagnostic workups, taking medical histories, preparing for appointments, performing in-house labs, venipuncture/blood draws, catheter placements, accurate prescription filling, and client education. Must demonstrate strong soft skills, effective communication with clients and team members, problem-solving, time-management, and teamwork. Required Qualifications
- At least 12 months of full-time experience as a veterinary assistant in a general practice/small animal hospital
- Ability to demonstrate proper restraining techniques
- In-house laboratory skills
- Catheter placement
- Blood draws
- Ability to accurately fill prescriptions
- Strong soft skills including client and team communication
- Problem-solving, work ethic, time management, and maturity
- Preparation for appointments, taking medical histories, assisting DVMs in surgery, exams, and diagnostic workups
