Job Summary
Provide clinical support as a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant in a fast-paced, small animal practice. Responsibilities include assisting veterinarians during examinations and procedures, preparing patients for surgery and assisting with anesthesia, performing venipuncture and catheter placement, conducting in-house laboratory testing (CBC, chemistry, urinalysis, cytology), assisting with radiographs and diagnostic imaging, monitoring patients pre-, intra-, and post-operatively, calculating medications, maintaining sterile surgical conditions, documenting thorough medical histories, educating clients on preventive care and post-operative instructions, and supporting inventory, records, and billing. The role emphasizes collaboration, growth, and continuing education within a well-established clinic.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Strong working knowledge of small animal medicine
- Proficiency in veterinary software (AVImark, Cornerstone, or similar)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to lift and restrain patients safely
- Strong attention to detail and medical math accuracy
