Job Summary
Coordinate surgery consultations and procedures while serving as the primary liaison between clients, referring veterinarians, and the surgical team. Manage communications, organize referral records and diagnostic results, prepare surgery estimates, and maintain accurate schedules within EzyVet. Assist with surgical patient appointments by obtaining histories, recording vital signs, performing blood draws, placing IV catheters, and sterilizing instruments. Maintain a clean, organized surgery suite, monitor inventory, and provide compassionate client education during discharge. Enter medical records and charges into the hospital information system while preparing discharge medications. Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8a-5p, with $22–$27/hour plus shift differential.
Required Qualifications
- Fluent English speaking and reading skills
- Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant in a veterinary hospital or specialty practice
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple surgical cases and priorities
- Excellent communication and client service skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced specialty and emergency environment
- Ability to work collaboratively with veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and client service teams
- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and support the entire department
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with EzyVet or similar veterinary software
