Job Summary
Veterinary Assistant to join the Surgery Team at BluePearl Pet Hospital in Tukwila, WA. Responsibilities include triaging cases, assisting the DVM with estimates, performing diagnostics (radiographs, lab work, etc.), preparing patients for ICU or inpatient care, discharging patients, and handling client communication. As a Surgery Veterinary Assistant, provide nursing care per hospital standards, place peripheral IV catheters (cephalic), monitor vitals, administer subcutaneous and IV fluids, operate fluid pumps, scrub in for surgical procedures with boarded surgeons, maintain and sterilize instruments, and contribute to a collaborative team focused on outstanding care. Strong emphasis on independent work within a team, with opportunities for advancement and ongoing CE benefits. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- Prefer to have a minimum of two years or more of experience in a veterinary hospital
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb and to lift up to 50 pounds
