Job Summary
Assist veterinarians and vet techs during examinations, treatments, and surgeries by handling and restraining animals safely. Prepare examination and surgical areas through cleaning and sterilization, while performing basic laboratory tests like collecting blood, urine, and stool samples. Administer medications and vaccinations under supervision, and feed, bathe, and exercise animals as needed. Maintain accurate medical records and communicate with pet owners regarding care plans. Clean the clinic, stock supplies, and ensure a sanitary environment. Requires 2+ years of experience and physical ability to handle animals. Full-time role with a 7:15 am–6:00 pm Monday–Friday schedule, rotating weekend on-call, and $16–$19/hr salary.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of veterinary assistant experience
- Technical know-how in areas such as disinfection, administering medication, and using diagnostic equipment
- Physical ability to handle animals safely and compassionately
