Veterinary Assistant - PACU

Job Summary
Monitor patients during post-operative and post-anesthetic recovery, accurately recording vital signs and identifying changes in patient condition. Assist with pain management, warming, positioning, and comfort measures while maintaining a clean, organized PACU and surgical recovery area. Communicate patient updates clearly to veterinarians and technicians, and assist with patient transfers and support emergency situations as needed. Provide compassionate care to patients and reassurance to pet families when appropriate. This role operates Friday through Sunday from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM with a base pay of $19–$22 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience as a Veterinary Assistant in a general practice
- Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative environment and build long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and the community
- Reliability, organization, and a commitment to delivering high-level patient care
- A passion for lifelong learning and continuous improvement
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a strong focus on client service
- Honesty, integrity, and a desire to have fun while doing meaningful work
- The ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently
Desired Qualifications
- Preference given to candidates with experience in a veterinary specialty hospital setting
- Additional fluency in other languages
