Job Summary
Emergency Veterinary Assistant role supporting veterinarians and technicians in a 24/7 emergency hospital serving the Denver metro area. Responsibilities include providing hands-on patient care, monitoring hospitalized patients, assisting with IV catheter placement, radiology, and chemotherapy support under supervision, preparing treatment areas and equipment, patient restraint, sample collection and lab prep, maintaining accurate medical records, and clear communication with veterinarians, technicians, and clients. Requires a minimum of 2 years of veterinary experience and strong client service skills; schedule includes overnight shifts (e.g., Thursday–Saturday 6pm–6am or Wednesday–Saturday 8pm–6am) at a Colorado location (Brighton/Commerce City). Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of recent veterinary experience with increasing responsibility
- Experience in an emergency or fast-paced veterinary setting preferred
- Strong patient restraint and handling skills
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology and basic medical procedures
- Ability to stay organized and manage detailed instructions in a high-pressure environment
- Demonstrated compassion for animals and strong client service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Strong communication skills and reliability in fast-moving situations
- Fluent English (spoken and written)
