Job Summary
Assist with ophthalmologic exams, specialized diagnostic procedures, and anesthetic and sedated procedures. Obtain intraocular pressures, measure blood pressure using Doppler, and take radiographs. Administer medications, place IV catheters, perform phlebotomy, and process laboratory specimens. Document history and updates in medical records and maintain accurate treatment sheets. Provide client education on at-home care and deliver quality, compassionate care. Work Monday through Friday in four 10-hour shifts at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working as a Veterinary Assistant
- Basic understanding and experience with anesthetic monitoring
- Process laboratory specimens
- Working knowledge of anatomy and physiology
- Understanding of normal vs abnormal physiologic ranges
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.
