Job Summary
Veterinary Assistant needed in Lower Manhattan (NoHo) to partner with veterinarians and vet techs in delivering high-quality pet care. Responsibilities include scribing during visits, assisting with surgeries, x-rays, treatments, restraining pets for exams, recording patient symptoms, maintaining exam rooms, communicating pricing estimates and treatment plans to clients, assisting with client interactions and scheduling, and other duties as assigned. Requires 1+ year veterinary/kennel experience, knowledge of veterinary terminology, strong communication skills, attention to detail, multitasking ability, and computer proficiency. Full-time, 40 hours/week with rotating 10-hour shifts. Required Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience as a veterinary assistant or kennel assistant
- A working knowledge of veterinary terminology
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and ability to multitask with accuracy and efficiency
- Proficiency in typing and using multiple computer systems
- Passion for pets
