Job Summary
Conduct routine laboratory procedures including blood tests, urinalysis, and basic cytology while preparing samples, performing tests, and documenting results. Interpret test results and accurately record them in patient medical records. Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies, ensuring the lab remains clean and organized while adhering to safety procedures. Assist with training new technicians, assistants, and students. Communicate effectively with clients and staff to provide information and ensure excellent service. Participate in continuing education opportunities to stay current on best practices.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Fluent English skills (speaking and reading)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a veterinary or medical laboratory setting
- AVA, or CVT or equivalent
- Familiarity with diagnostic laboratory procedures
- Experience with automated machines (Idexx, Abaxis, Nova)
- Experience and proficiency in using EzyVet
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent attention to detail
- Problem-solving skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of veterinary laboratory procedures and techniques
