Job Summary
Assist in induction and sedation of patients with a Licensed Veterinary Technician during endoscopies, CT scans, tube placements, and diagnostic imaging procedures. Restrain patients accurately for radiology, ultrasonography, and venipuncture, while collecting and submitting biopsies to outside laboratories. Conduct appointments for new and recheck patients, restock supplies, and perform weekly inventory checks. Work under direct supervision to obtain and relay medical histories using electronic practice management software.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1-year veterinary assistant experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift, push, and pull above 50lbs
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Able to multitask and work under pressure
Desired Qualifications
- ER or specialty experience
- Veterinary Assistant Certification
- Licensed Veterinary Technician Program
- Speaking directly with clients and other hospital team members
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong work ethic
- Positive attitude
