Job Summary
Veterinary Assistant needed at Animal Hospital at Lakewood Ranch in Bradenton, FL to support veterinarians and technicians across patient care, surgery, diagnostics, and client communication. Role includes assisting with patient restraint and handling, exams, treatments, post-operative recovery, sterile surgery setup, anesthesia monitoring under supervision, handling diagnostic samples, radiographs, imaging, and care for exotic/mixed species. Maintains patient records and supports client education and hospital flow. Requires ability to stand/walk, lift up to 50 lbs, and thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment. 1+ year veterinary clinic experience preferred; Veterinary Assistant certification or formal training is a plus. Salary $19–$21 per hour plus full-time benefits including health, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, and opportunities for professional growth.
