Job Summary
Manage in-hospital patients by discharging them, admitting new cases, and administering medications or performing IV catheter placement. Provide compassionate care by educating clients on home medication protocols, explaining financial estimates, and handling phone inquiries regarding payments or procedures. Coordinate clinical workflows by relaying lab results to doctors, scheduling appointments, preparing invoices, and collecting samples for submission. Maintain facility standards through equipment disinfection, laundry assistance, and stocking common areas while supporting diagnostics like CT scans and allergy testing. Work full-time Monday through Thursday from 8:00am to 6:00pm in a specialized dermatology setting.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma
- Minimum of 2-year experience in general or specialty veterinary service
- Venipuncture and IV catheter placement
- Intubation/Extubation experience
- Surgical preparation and assistance
- Proficiency in diagnostic imaging and laboratory procedures
- Experience handling and processing surgical instruments, including specialized equipment
- Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
- Problem-solving methods
- Fluent English skills (speaking & reading)
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or Bachelors
- Related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education / experience
- Previous experience in a surgical or specialty veterinary setting
- Fluency in multiple languages
