Job Summary
Veterinary Assistant at Crysler Animal Hospital (Independence, MO) — provide skilled care to patients and exceptional service to clients. Key duties include assisting veterinarians in medical, surgical, and dental procedures; administering anesthesia; preparing patients for surgery; monitoring during and after procedures; restraining and handling animals safely; maintaining records in a paperless system; dispensing medications and labeling; educating clients on preventive care and hospital finances; promoting the practice’s services; and ensuring safe operation of the facility. Requires at least 1 year of veterinary experience. Schedule: Monday–Friday 7am–6pm and Saturday 8am–12pm with rotating Saturdays.
Required Qualifications
- At least 1 year of veterinary experience is required
- Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately
- Knowledgeable about DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines
- Familiarity with hospital safety guidelines and procedures
- Follow DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines; administer injections; assist with surgical procedures
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in a paperless system
