Job Summary
Veterinary Assistant at Eldorado Animal Clinic. Core duties include assisting veterinarians to provide compassionate nursing care, preparing and maintaining surgical instruments, keeping accurate medical records, filling prescriptions as directed, assisting reception staff with check-in/out and telephone support, performing laboratory tests, and maintaining clean facilities. Requires friendly, outgoing, people-oriented, self-motivated team player with strong communication and technical skills.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of clinic experience as a veterinary assistant
- High school diploma
- Physical ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays
- Must frequently lift 40 pounds
- Able to stand, walk and climb stairs
- Able to work with computer systems and multi-line telephone
- Experience handling dogs on leashes
- Comfortable in an environment with disinfectants and animal dander
- Comfortable restraining animals during examinations
