Job Summary
Provides support to licensed veterinarians and veterinary technicians, ensures a sanitary environment for animals in BTAA care, assists with shelter animal intake and treatment, and aids in the preparation and recovery of surgeries. Maintains accurate medical records in the computerized system, conducts basic laboratory procedures under supervision (fecal flotation, skin scrapings, urinalyses, fungal cultures, parvo tests, FeLV/FIV tests, heartworm tests), follows Fear Free guidelines to promote a fear-free environment, educates staff and clients, and performs duties to support hospital operations. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, endure long periods of standing, and adapt to flexible daily planning. Position is full-time with typical day shift in Ponderay, Idaho.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 years of veterinary experience in a veterinary hospital or care center setting required.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Demonstrates compassion, integrity, respect and stewardship toward people and animals.
- Proficient in MS Office programs and computer knowledge/experience required.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
- Some travel maybe required.
