Job Summary
The Veterinary Assistant supports and assists veterinarians and veterinary technicians, ensuring the safety of pets and clients and the continuity of quality veterinary care. Responsibilities include helping maintain the flow of patients, communicating with the veterinarian and vet techs, carrying out procedures not requiring veterinary or tech assistance, adhering to hospital standards to keep areas clean and safe, and educating clients about preventive care and the practice’s Optimum Wellness Plans. The role emphasizes professional, efficient, and exceptional service, mentoring other team members, and contributing to the hospital’s learning and development opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Certificate of NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
