Job Summary
Veterinary Assistant for a fast-paced VCA Urgent Care hospital in LA-Mar Vista. You’ll follow digital treatment plans prescribed by the DVM, obtain quality lab samples via venipuncture and cystocentesis, perform in-hospital diagnostics (urinalysis, cytologies, etc.), process lab samples, use hands-free radiology to obtain diagnostic radiographs, administer injections and nursing care as directed, and maintain accurate digital medical records. You’ll also fill prescriptions (as allowed by law), maintain a clean work environment with infectious-disease protocols, and support a team-focused, low-stress patient-care environment. The role emphasizes teamwork, clear communication, and adaptability in a high-paced, hospital setting.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of veterinary experience in a GP, UC or emergency setting
- Ability to operate with a sense of urgency and high pace
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Willingness to jump in as needed
- Able to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
- Comfortable asking for help and clarification when needed
- Possess a high attention to detail
