Job Summary
Assist veterinarians in outpatient exams by taking histories, vital signs, and weights, and provide client education regarding care and procedures. Prepare patients for surgery, monitor vital signs during procedures, and administer medications, anesthesia, and vaccines at the veterinarian's discretion. Obtain blood and stool samples, perform in-house laboratory testing, and take, develop, and maintain radiographs following safety protocols. Monitor hospitalized pets, clean exam and lab areas, restock supplies, and maintain inventory. Communicate with clients and team members to coordinate patient plans and address concerns. This role requires previous veterinary experience, weekend availability, and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Required Qualifications
- Ability to work on weekends as required
- Previous veterinary experience (minimum of 1 year)
- Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds
- Ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance
- Practice OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE
- Basic math and the ability to calculate medication dosages
- Basic computer skills, familiarity with MS office applications
- Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety
