Job Summary
The Veterinary Assistant role supports Animal Friends Alliance clinic(s) by providing safe, humane care for dogs and cats, including assisting with initial examinations, identifying animals, administering vaccines or treatments, monitoring anesthesia, leading surgeries as assigned, initiating emergency procedures, and training volunteers/interns. Responsibilities also include maintaining kennels and inventory, handling controlled drugs per regulations, ensuring accurate checklists, and communicating health concerns to owners. Requires 1 year of animal-care experience and an associate or bachelor degree in veterinary technology (or equivalent experience).
