Job Summary
Provide compassionate, professional care to patients and clients while assisting veterinarians with outpatient exams, diagnostics, treatments, and surgical procedures. Safely restrain animals of varying sizes and temperaments, administer medications, draw vaccines, collect lab samples, and perform basic tests. Communicate clearly with clients and staff, answer phones, route inquiries, and educate patients on vaccinations and treatment protocols. Create and enter treatment plans, record patient information, and process payments during check-out. Maintain exam rooms and hospital spaces, ensuring they are clean and stocked. Work a flexible schedule covering all practice hours, lifting up to 50 pounds and handling animals up to 130 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to use practice management software
- Ability to use Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work safely around cleaning chemicals
- Ability to work safely around anesthetic gases
- Ability to work safely around radiation
- Ability to work safely around zoonotic diseases
- Ability to work safely around animal bodily fluids
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to safely handle animals up to 130 pounds
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods throughout the workday
- Professional, neat appearance consistent with hospital standards
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- Availability for scheduling during all hours the practice is open
