Job Summary
Veterinary Assistant role focusing on hands-on patient care and support. Responsibilities include pet restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging (including radiographs), management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying stability, administration of medications, and communicating treatment plans with clients. Responsibilities also encompass surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management. Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors/noises and potential exposure to bites, scratches, animal waste, and contagious diseases. Opportunities for growth through virtual and hands-on training and continuing development. Minimum 1-year experience preferred for an Exam Room Assistant; strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills are essential.
