Job Summary
Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and medical procedures while collecting and processing laboratory samples including blood draws, urinalysis, and cytology. Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed, and monitor patients pre- and post-operatively. Perform diagnostic imaging including X-rays and ultrasounds, maintain accurate patient medical records using veterinary practice management software, and educate pet owners regarding treatment plans and home care. Ensure exam rooms, surgical suites, and equipment are clean and properly sterilized. Certified Veterinary Technician or Registered Veterinary Technician preferred with proficiency in venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and anesthesia monitoring. Required Qualifications
- Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) preferred
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital setting
- Proficiency in venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and anesthesia monitoring
- Strong knowledge of animal handling and restraint techniques for various species
- Excellent communication and client education skills
- Ability to remain calm and compassionate in high-stress or emergency situations
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with veterinary practice management software is a plus
