Job Summary
Medical Director role at Cats Only Veterinary Hospital in Rocklin, CA: serve as the clinical leader and medical voice of the practice, balancing hands-on patient care with leadership responsibilities, mentoring associate doctors, and driving medical quality, patient outcomes, and client trust. Collaborate with the Practice Manager on scheduling, clinical workflows, and strategic initiatives; oversee medical quality standards, regulatory compliance (including responsible veterinarian duties and related registrations), and hospital operations. Lead regular doctor meetings, guide staff development, and engage with the local community to strengthen the hospital’s presence and impact. Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing professional growth of veterinary talent; maintain a robust caseload while serving as a hands-on clinician and AmeriVet ambassador. The role emphasizes leadership, clinical excellence, teamwork, client communication, and adherence to industry standards, with a salary range of $180,000–$200,000 plus production bonuses and comprehensive benefits including relocation assistance.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) required
- Active licensure without restrictions in state of practice
- Active DEA Registration for responsible practice location(s)
- State-controlled substance, pharmacy or related licenses/registrations as required
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a practicing veterinarian
- Preferred minimum 1 year of experience leading a veterinary team and/or multi-unit experience
- Commit to a minimum of 35 hours per week
