Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive physical examinations for canine and feline patients, diagnosing and treating common medical conditions within scope of care. Develop treatment plans involving diagnostics, medications, and follow-up, while providing preventative services such as vaccines and parasite control. Perform minor outpatient procedures and oversee spay/neuter services as needed, triaging cases outside your scope to specialty or emergency providers. Maintain accurate medical records and support efficient clinic flow. Communicate clearly with clients to educate them on health planning and support informed decisions. Collaborate with veterinary technicians and staff, providing mentorship and refining medical protocols based on community needs. Work a 3 or 4-day week with no weekend, evening, or holiday shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent)
- Current Washington State veterinary license (or ability to obtain within 60 days)
- Strong clinical skills in general small animal medicine
- Excellent communication and client education skills
- Commitment to low-stress handling and patient-centered care
- Sound clinical judgment and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Alignment with mission-driven, access-to-care veterinary services
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
- 3 or 4-day workweek with no weekend, evening, or holiday shifts
Desired Qualifications
- 3+ years of general practice experience
- Experience with high-volume or community medicine settings
- Surgical experience (spay/neuter or outpatient procedures)
- Experience working with underserved populations or access-to-care models
- Leadership or mentorship experience
