Job Summary
Provide preventative care, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases and injuries of pets in a professional manner. Ensure safety by utilizing safe restraining techniques and maintaining organized treatment areas. Educate clients about pet health needs, provide exceptional service including prescribing care, and maintain proper medical records. Requires strong communication, surgical skills, problem-solving capabilities, and client service focus. Must follow legal regulations regarding veterinary practices and have the ability to multi-task in a high-volume environment.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required
- License in good standing with the applicable state veterinary board
- License with the Drug Enforcement Agency required
- Proven ability to perform all basic surgeries, including use of all standard medical instruments and equipment
Additional Requirements
- Client needs and work volume may often require more than 40 hours per week to complete essential duties of this job.
- This position requires special hours including working weekends and evenings.
