Job Summary
Provide case management and career services to veterans, eligible spouses, and transitioning service members, ensuring they receive priority of service per Federal and State requirements. Complete intake and eligibility determinations to assess employment needs, then guide participants through individual employment plans. Connect clients with supportive services, training programs, and employment opportunities, including those with significant barriers. Build relationships with the Department of Veterans Affairs, Texas Veterans Commission, and military installations. Conduct orientation sessions, workshops, and job clubs while maintaining accurate case files in WIT. Work onsite and remotely in a hybrid capacity.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of veterans' programs, priority of service requirements, and resources available to veterans
- Strong communication skills and knowledge about community resources
- Must be computer literate with MS Word and Excel skills at minimum, and the ability to learn specialized databases and software systems
- Ability to work in a variety of settings with a culturally diverse customer base with the ability to be culturally sensitive
- Ability to serve as a role model to customers and motivate them toward achieving goals
- Excellent interpersonal, time management, customer service, organizational, and communication skills, both oral and written
- Knowledgeable about the WIOA program and other workforce program requirements
- A Valid Driver's License
- Must be able to work onsite as well as remotely (Hybrid position)
Desired Qualifications
- Veteran status or experience working directly with the veteran community
- Bilingual or multilingual
- Strong multitasking abilities and a proactive approach to tasks
- Training in Trauma Informed Care, evidence-based practice, and/or whole family services
